OK,

Where can a COMPLETE novice go to start to learn how the User-Level Security
protocals work? I mean from the ground up when someone doesn't have a clue
about any of it. I keep getting bits and pieces of the puzzle and its
becoming more and more confusing trying to fit it all together and make it
work. Is there a book out there, website, file, whatever.

Any help would be appreciated.

Start with Help - there is some information there, but read all of the
following:
Security FAQ

Security Whitepaper
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=148555

I've also outlined the detailed steps at
www.jmwild.com/AccessSecurity.htm

Lynn Trapp's

Jack Macdonald's
http://www.geocities.com/jacksonmacd/AJMAccessSecurity.pdf

Keith Wilby's

There is also a book on Access Security (although I haven't read it),
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/A...sr=2-1/ref=pd_bbs_b_2_1/102-6688498-5888945If all of that isn't enough, you can always come back and ask specificquestions.--Joan WildMicrosoft Access MVP
