I am trying to apply user-level security to an Access 2000
database. I have the Access 2000 developers Handbook Set
by Getz, Litwin and Gilbert, where they mention on page
428 that "In contrast to prior versions of the security
Wizard, the Access 2000 Security Wizard does not encrypt
the database". I don't particularly want the database
encrypted; I just want to limit what unsophisticate users
can change and edit in the database. So, I liked the
comment by Getz, et al.
But, when I used the user-level wizard to secure the
database, the last message that displayed on screen
was "The Security wizard has encrypted your database....."
Is it actually encrypting? Are Getz, etc wrong or is this
a message that's bogus?
Thanks for the info!
