I have one user who has to log into Outlook every time they perform a
restart. They are the only one on the network who has this issue. Is there
a setting that can be adjusted so that they will not have to log onto Outlook
once they have logged into the network?

What version of Outlook are you using? Check the settings under Security
regarding password authentication which are under Tools Email Accounts -
Change - More Settings. Also is this person logging onto the computer as
themselves or is it a generic group login if a group or generic login then
yes they would be prompted in Outlook for a password

Thank you Francine for taking the time to help with my issue. We are on
Outlook 2003 and I have checked to see if the checkbox was checked (and it
was not) on the tab you mentioned. I will try to describe what happens:
1) Power on the computer and get to the network login window
2) Logging into the domain
3) Open Outlook 2003
4) A window pops up and asks for a password - The Domain\UserID field is
populated when the window opens.

I am going to perform a few tests this morning when the person gets here to
confirm they are logging onto the network when they do the initial log in.
Please keep the advice coming.

Hello, I have this exact same issue - but the login prompt is populated with

ExchangeServerName\Username

Then the user has to thange it to domain\username.

Any solution to this problem?

MG2,

I have since resolved this issue with the help of a M/S engineer. The way
we solved my issue was to follow these steps:
Step 1: create a new Outlook profile
=======================
A new profile is a new environment for us to use Outlook. To create a new
profile is only for a test to see if the problem is related to the corrupt
profile of Outlook. Creating a new profile will not do any damage to the old
profile. Please refer to the following article to create a new profile in
Outlook.

Step 2: Clear all Add-Ins in Outlook.
============================================
1. Start Outlook.
2. On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Other tab.
3. Click Advanced Options, and then click Add-In Manager and COM Add-Ins
respectively.
4. In both Add-in boxes, click to clear the check boxes for the add-ins.
5. Click OK three times.
6. Restart Outlook and all add-ins should be disabled at that time.

Please test the issue again and let me know the results. If the issue stills
exists, please go directly to step 3. If the issue does not occur, please
follow the steps below to determine the corrupted add-in.

7. Click to enable one add-in and then restart Outlook to check if the
problem re-occurs.
8. Add one check back each time to the list of Add-In Manager or COM
Add-Ins, restart Outlook, and repeat the above procedure.
9. Once the issue reappears again, you can determine which add-in causes
this problem and then disable it to solve the problem.

Best of Luck resolving your issue. Please let me know if I can be of any
help.

Thank you so much for the quick response.

I have tried Step 1 and 2 - problem is still unsolved. Do you have Step3? I
didn't see it in the posted text.

Thanks,
MG2
