HI

I am trying to give a user more permissions on my home
network and have added them to the Administrators group.

When I log on as the user, they have no more rights than
a normal user.

any ideas?

Thanks

Rob

Rob,

What sort of rights were you expecting them to have? Do you have a domain
setup at home? If so, where are you adding the user's group membership?

Hi Martin

I have added the user to the Administrators group and the
Enterprise admins group but get the same result. The user
has no rights what so ever. I cannot even create shared
folders with this user.

??????

Its doing my head in. It cant be something I am doing
wrong can it? Its seems such a simple process

If you go into computer management (start>run>compmgmt.msc) on the local
machine, and browse to local users & groups, is domain admins a member of
the administators group?

Hi Brian

I cannot access the server local users and groups because
it is a domain controller and all the domain accounts are
managed in AD.

Is this what you meant?

Rob

I was under the impression that you are experiencing this issue on a client
machine. You need to perform the procedure outlined in previous messages on
the client machine.
