Not sure if this is the correct forum for this question. if not, please
advise and I will re-post.

Can anybody tell me how to hide/prevent specific programmes from displaying
on a users start menu?

We are using Vista Ultimate and the PC has 4 user login accounts. I need to
prevent specific users, from accessing specific programmes and yet do not
want the 'parental controls prevent......' message appearing. especially as
all the users are 50+ in years and probably dont have living parents!

This was easy under XP as you simply moved folders from C:\Documents and
Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs to the specific users start menu
folder.

Any help, gratefully received.

You follow the same procedure that you used in XP. The only thing that has
changed is the location/names of the folders.

The All Users Start Menu folder is located at:
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu

The individual users Start Menu folder is located at:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu

Ronnie,

Thanks a lot for this.
