Sorry I didn't list the subject. I am getting frequent
User.exe errors. I have downloaded the lastest security
patch; I run Lavasoft Adware regularly as well as McAfee
Virus Scan which is up to date. I have cleaned out
history, temp internet files, etc. The errors continue.
I am able to work on the net after the error but I don't
know what's wrong. Here is today's error: If anyone can
help me I'd be grateful.
EXPLORER caused an invalid page fault in
module USER.EXE at 001f:0000166c.

Pat,
It's possible that there's a problem with your video adapter.

From Control Panel> Display> Settings> Advanced, look around to find the
name/model of your video driver and the manufacturer. Go to the
manufacturer's website and look for updates. Also from settings. Advanced>
Performance, you could try taking a click or two off of Hardware
Acceleration.

Hope this helps,
Don

I have been having this error message for weeks and don't
know what's wrong or what to do to correct it.
"Iexplore has caused an error in user.exe and will now
close"
If anyone knows how to fix this let me know please.

Your video adaptor may need to be updated.

But it's more likely (at present) that you have an adware, spyware, parasite
program on your computer which is interfering with IE.

Try these programs:
Ad-aware 6- Lavasoft: http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/
Spybot - Search & Destroy: http://security.kolla.de/
Both of these programs should be updated (online) before use and both have
an undo/restore freature. Glance at the help files before using.
