User Does not have Access Priveliges

A word 2002 document that I worked on a couple of months
ago will no longer allow me to open the document. The
following error occurs:
"Word cannot open the document: user does not have access
priveliges".

The word file is located on the server but was generated
on my computer.

What is the reason for this? This is urgent as the file
needs to be amended and reissued to the client?

Please help!

If the server file permissions don't allow you to access the document it
doesn't matter who created it. Are you able to copy the file locally?
