I have been working to set up my PC with an Administrator
account and a User account, after a clean installation of
Windows 2000 Prof.
When I login as Administrator, or if I give myself
administrator rights, there are no problems.
When I login as User, I get the message "Access is
denied". If I click OK and the try to open Adaptec Easy CD
Creator, I get a series of messages saying that Easy CD
Creator cannot access a number of files.
Event ID 2511 on Server says:
"The server service was unable to recreate the share
[sharename] because the directory C:\Program
Files\Adaptec\Easy CD Creator\Shared\ECDC Engine\Images no
longer exists." But it does exist.
Event ID 17 on Removable Storage Service says:
"RSM cannot manage library PhysicalDrive3. It encountered
an unspecified error. This can be caused by a number of
problems including, but not limited to, database
corruption, failure communicating with the library, or
insufficient system resources." THis may just be because
there was no CD in the drive.
I suppose Physical Drive 3 is the R/W CD drive. There is
nothing wrong with the CD drive because I can format CDs
and copy files to it using DirectCD.
I have uninstalled Easy CD Creator and reinstalled it, as
Administrator, and then installed it again while logged in
as User with admin rights.
I have also changed the security and sharing settings on
every relevant folder I could find in Windows Explorer.
Still no access.
Any ideas?
Thanking you in anticipation
