The first user in this thread claims that a site I own is
trying to add itself to his PC's trusted site, and that
Giant/MS AnytiSpyware found this for him, although he
claims to not have visited the site in 3 years.

What would cause this? There aren't any processes running
on my server to indicate this behavior.

I believe that I know what's going on here, but I don't know whether I can
do anything for your user.

I'm not sure exactly how to reproduce this, but I had a similar experience
with an end user of a site I work with.

His home page was normally set to the site.

I installed Microsoft Antispyware on his machine.

He then wrote to the site admin that he'd received a similar warning--that
xxxx.org was trying to hijack his browser.

I asked him to go into the Microsoft Antispyware UI and set the browser
hijack restore settings to show our site as his home page, and that made the
issue go away, as I recall it now.

As in your case--there was nothing active about the site or page--I don't
think we even use cookies.

I'll take a look at the thread and see if I can say anything useful. The
browser hijack warning function is an imporant one, but I can't say I've
been impressed with how it actually functions in the beta so far.

OK - I'm not going to dig in and register in order to be able to post.

I believe both of you:

i.e. I believe the O.P. got a message from Microsoft Antispyware when he
changed profiles--probably because the profile he was switching to had your
site in some setting from years ago.

I believe you that you don't have such active content, etc, etc.

I'm sure this is an issue with the beta product, and my suggestion is that
you relay this message--you can quote it in full, and suggest that the OP
come here for further assurance if he wishes.
