A secretary created a word document with a password and
now she cannot remember password. Is there any way to get
this document to open as it contains important
information we need.

Thanks,
Fred

Hypnosis? Nothing else is likely to be successful.

I doubt that any such thing will be promoted here but when recovering lost
passwords from Word documents Google is your friend. ;-)

If this is a form document, inserting it into a fresh document using Insert
| File will remove the protection. Otherwise you're at the mercy of hackers.

There are utilities available from hackers who adverise on the web - there
is one linked from my web site - but the problem is that these utilities
only work with simple passwords. With useful passwords the cracking is
likely to be expensive and can require a PC to be tied up for a very long
time trying every possible option. This can take weeks of processing. You
also have the issue of paying a person who cracks passwords for a living
with your credit card :(
