hi...
how can i set all hd-s to be prohibited to certain users (using security
tab...), but to allow them to use only one directory on hd which is located
in one of the directories...
exmp. i want to prohibit everything on f:
but to allow users to write/rewrite/delete/create files in
f:\admin\qrwe\users
i tried to set the security tab in users, but all they could do was to
change something, but not to delete or create files...???

thnx...

You can create a group in Computer Management and add the restricted users to
the new group. Make sure that your remove them from the Administrators group
and maybe Power Users. Open the security tab on the F drive and remove the
Users group, apply the changes. Then open the security tab for
f:\admin\qrwe\users and add the new group. Select all for all attributes
except Full Control and then check the box that says "Apply these permissions
to objects and/or container within this container only." Click OK. UnCheck
"Inherit from parent the permissions...." and Check "Replace permission
entries..." This will give them explicit rights to this folder.

You will need to create a shortcut to this folder for each user since that
will not have permissions to browse to this location. Let me know if you have
any questions.
