Apologies if this is a stupid question. I've only just started using XP
Home.

I have a Guest Account set-up, but when I log into it, I get a series of
error messages as the start up programs are trying to access files that the
Guest Account is denied from accessing. These programs are not in the Start
Menu so I can't remove them from there. I can disable them by running
MSCONFIG, but then it applies to all accounts and I don't want that. The
type of programs in question are such things as, BIOS update manager, system
temperature alarms etc. How do I stop this happening?

Thanks for any help.

you can login as guest and try to remove this programs from registry, by
running regedit, and deleting trouble strings in
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

BUT EXPORT THIS KEY FIRST, this needs if anything go wrong.

Why are you even trying to log -on as Guest? Don't bother - it's more of a
sytem user than a user user if you see what I mean.
