user accounts question

Hi,

I am running xp home, and what I want to do from the administrators account
is to add and remove programs (especially browsers etc) from the kids
account.

How can I do this? It seems that if I log on to the kids account I can't do
anything, and I can't see how I can do it as an administrator. Why on earth
can't Microsoft make things simple??

Thanks

The proper way is to log on as admin and install the software. If you stick
to software that is certified to work with Win 2000 or Win XP there will be
a step during the install process that allows you to choose between
"installing for all users" or "install for the currently logged on user" or
something to that effect.

Security = user inconvenience. The same as securing your house. The more
locks you install to secure your house, the more inconvenient it is to
unlock all of them. When MS was "making thing simple" they became the most
targeted OS/software out for hackers. People complained how insecure MS
software was. Well they are fixing it.

Ok - I understand this. The real problem I have is that I want to control
access to already installed programs such as internet explorer and msn
messenger. Any ideas?
