Hello

Just installed Windows XP Service Pack 2. I have set up two user
accounts - 1 X administrator, 1 X restricted access. Can I set things up
so the computer always boots as the administrator? The other account
will only be used occasionally.

Also, when I come back after leaving the computer idle for some time, it
brings up the user account window and asks me to select the user and
enter my password again. Can i stop this?

Thanks in anticipation of any assistance.

Normally Windows will boot the user who last shut the system down. As for
the password on wake up from idle, go to Control Panel>User Accounts>User
Accounts(again)>Change the way users log on or off and uncheck Use the
Welcome Screen. You will alerted that you are also disabling Fast User
Switching, but that should be fine in your case. After this change the
login dialogue box will not appear when you move the mouse to wake up the
system.

Thanks a lot Colin for such a quick reply. Your instructions worked
fine. Much appreciated.
