I recently noticed that next to one of the user accounts on my XP Home machine, it shows "50 unread email messages", and refers to a hormail account for that user. However, that user deleted all of the messages. How can I keep XP from reporting this type of info for users? I dont mind seeing how many programs each user has running, but dont want to see about unread emails. Is there a way to modify what info is displayed at the login page for each user account?

Download and install TweakUI:

Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP (TweakUI)
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

After installing, go to Start > Programs > PowerToys for Windows XP >
TweakUI. Expand "Logon" and uncheck "Show unread mail on Welcome screen".

Note: Unread message alerts may indicate you have unread messages not only
in Outlook Express, but Hotmail and/or MSN email accounts as well.
