David A.

I used to be able to turn on my computer and it would
boot up and Windows XP pro would load and my desktop
would show up. Now it asks to click on my user account
every time it starts up. This is a pain for me because
I'm handicapped and can't click on it myself. I need my
windows program to operate myself. How can I get it to
automatically load again? Thanks.

Click on Start and run: type in control userpasswords2
Uncheck the box User must enter a username and password.

Thank you very much Michael. That did the trick.

Configure Windows XP to Automatically Logon:

Solution 1:
Click Start, Run and type "control userpasswords2", and click Ok.
Uncheck "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer"
option, and click Ok.

Solution 2:
If you have one user account and no password configured, Windows XP will log
you in automatically. Otherwise, you'll have to do the following:
Obtain and install the Windows XP version of TweakUI.

Download it from here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

Open TweakUI (it's in Start -> Programs -> Powertoys for Windows XP).
Expand the Logon branch, and click Autologon.
Turn on the Log on automatically at system startup option, type your
username and password, and click Ok.
