Hello,

The issues I am searching for an answer to deals with
creating a new user in a Win2000 AD native domain. When I
create a new user account it displays the Full Name of the
user followed by "(e-mail address removed)". This is not the
exact issue. When I try to add this user to a Win2000 Pro
workstation and browse to the account I get this error
message....

Processing of object "Full Name" failed with the following
error: Name translation: Generic processing error.

This error does not generate any Event Log entries on
either the server or the workstation. This problem
affects all newly created user accounts. I hope there is
a solution to this problem. Any other needed info please
email me. Thank you in advance for any help.

This is not really a security issue but here goes. The user with @domain.com is
the UPN name for logon. I am not sure exactly what your problem is or what you
are trying to do. I assume you are trying to add a user to acls or local groups
on the domain workstation. I suggest you try running dcdiag on the domain
controller and netdiag on the workstation looking for any failed tests that may
prove helpful in determining problem. These are located on the install cd under
the support/tools folder where you will need to run the setup there. It could be
a problem with dns, global catalog server, replication, etc. You may also want
to post in the win2000.active_directory newsgroup. --- Steve
