Hi! Whenever I switch on my computer and enter the welcome screen, it
notifies me of the number of e-mails I have in my hotmail account. But, I
have tried so many times to change the settings of the user account to
prevent this from occuring, yet it never seems to work. Also, the welcome
screen is meant to show the number of e-mails in MY inbox, since I gave it my
e-mail address, but, again, for some reason, it shows the number of e-mails
in someone else's account. So, basically, the welcome screen which is meant
to show me my e-mails (which in the first place, i dont want shown to me) is
actually showing me someone's else's emails. I JUST WANT TO GET RID OF THIS
SITUATION.

CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW TO PREVENT E-MAIL NOTIFICATIONS FROM SHOWING UP ON
THE WELCOME SCREEN ALTOGETHER. BASICALLY, JUST HOW TO DISABLE THE WHOLE DAMN
THING!!!

I don't want to see the number of e-mails I have when i first swtich on my
computer. How can I competely disable this whole thing. I want to keep my
user account, but i dont want the number of e-mails i have in my hotmail
inbox shown to me.

Thank you for helping out

If a friend has logged on with you user account and then checked email
using their passport, their passport may be hooked up to your user account
(in addition to your own). To remove their passport, open Control Panel>
User Accounts. Select your account. In the window that appears, click
"manage my network passwords" under "Related Tasks" in the left hand
column. In next window, select their passport and click the Remove button.

I use TweakUI for removing the mail count entirely from the welcome screen.
It is also capable of correcting the email count. TweakUI for XP is one of
the power toys that can be found here:

hi, i deleted all the .NET passports after going into managing my accounts,
but, it still doesnt work, it STILL shows me the number of e-mails somehow.
Also, i downloaded tweak UI, but when i try to open it,an error comes up
telling me that "tweakUIPowertopSetup_ai64.exe is not a valid win32
application". So ... yeah .... its totally messed up .... thanks for the
help though, do u know how to make tweakUI work on my comp or other methods
of getting rid of this e-mail thing

Thank you so much ... so far .. haha

Do you have a 64bit processor system? If no, go back to that page and
download TweakUI from the link above the one you used last time.
