User account delete but keep files

Problem
All files were lost after the below actions. Asking for hints how to recover the lost files
Control panel, User Accounts, change an account, (selected non-adminsistrator account), delete account, keep files (rather than delete files)

The system deleted all the corresponding files. The system did create the appropriate folder on the desktop, but folder was empty. Conducted "restore" but only the sub-folders were restored, not the Word & Excel files

Hi,

Try a freeware undelete utility, and quickly before the space those files
occupied is overwritten. The more you do with the machine, the better the
chance of that happening.
