I recently purchased a new acer computer with Vista Home Premium. When I
first boot up, I
get a User Account Control screen stating that an unidentifed program is
trying to gain access. The file name given is setpointupdate.exe. If I
select either cancel, allow or hit the top x button to turn off the screen,
the computer reboots, no matter which of the three options I choose. After
it reboots, the message screen does not display.

How do I keep this from happenening every time I turn on my computer? Any
help is appreciated, I am very frustrated with this process!

Setpointupdate.exe belongs to Logitech, either keyboard or mouse
drivers. Go to the Logitech Control Panel applet and disable automatic
checking for updates. Unless you're having problems, you should leave
your mouse/keyboard drivers alone anyway.
