usenet reading and posting software for mac

All I can find for reading and posting to usenet newsgroups is
this lame GOGGLE account that takes many hours to show my posts.

Can anyone direct me to where I can get a decent freeware USENET
reading and posting software program for MACINTOSH users. I am stuck
with OS 9.

I used to have a windows machine and I used TRUMPET NEWSREADER. That
was a great little program and it allowed me to use fake email.

I have outlook express but it sucks.

I don't know anything about Mac software, but while you are looking,
you can post to this forum in real time anonymously at
http://www.sixfiles.com/forum/
You do have to register but you can provide whatever info you like and
it is not checked.

Also, be aware that google is developing a new version of google
groups in which posts appear very soon after entry, almost in real
time; again you have to register; in google's case they do check to
make sure your email address is valid, so use someting like
(e-mail address removed) so you can check on the web and reply to their
confirmation email but still remain anonymous.

Putting 'mac newsreader freeware' in (without the quotes) gives some
decent hits, including this one:

which has a mix of freeware and sharew*re apps.

Netscape 4.x, 6 and 7.0 can run on OS 9, and also Mozilla versions up to
1.2.1.

Try Newswatcher from Mac Orchard (Jo posted the link). That's the one I
used to use on the older Mac OS's.

Been a *long* time since I've used a Mac, but when I did, I was pleased
with MT-Newswatcher.

I 2nd that. MT-NW is *still* the best news client for Mac OS.
