Bought a used Dell system, came with a restore disc, but no serial number to
use it. Dell was of no help in this matter. Is there a way to reed the
serial number so I can re-install the programs and Windows? Thanks in
advance.

I've been wondering for some time: what is
"annexcafe.general.user2user", and why do you suggest it for every OT
question? I'm not surprised to find that it doesn't exist on
Microsoft's news server, but my ISP's news server doesn't carry it,
either.

The newsgroup annexcafe.general.user2user is also not available on Giganews, which is the
server used by Comcast. I was able to find archived messages for this group on google,
but it appears as if the last archived message is dated August 13, 2000.

About all I can tell you is the server is at "news.annexcafe.com" I was
able to get to user2user from a list of newsgroups on the webpage. I set it
up using MS Outlook as my reader. I have Warner - Roadrunner for my IP so I
can't say that it may be different for you. It is a very good general
computer question newsgroup.
