when I instaled windows XP, microsft let me use the same disk for both
although I had to call in the 2nd install but the guy let me. WIll I be able
to do the same with Vista Ultimate? use the same disk for the 2 of my PC's???

No, and it was not allowed with Windows XP.
Perhaps the tech you talked misunderstood you.
As with Windows XP, one license, one computer.
Assuming retail, you can reinstall or move to another computer an
unlimited number of times as long as it is only installed on one
computer at a time.

Read your Microsoft Software License Terms for details

The 'guy let you' use Windows XP on a second machine with a single license
because you (1) purchased an additional license, conveniently left out
information (purposely or by coincidence) or there was misunderstanding in
what you were doing...

While you may use the same CD/DVD over and over - you have to have a
license/product key for each installation that is unique or you are not in
compliance with tth End-User Licensing Agreement (EULA) that has come with
every version of Windows other than volume/select licensing..
