Thanks, Eli. Of course this, as I believe was the case with the information
I originally posted I believe is for use with a telephone. However, as
posted, a modem that supports voice as well as data and fax could allow a
user, with the right software to use the PC's mic and speakers to be used as
a telephone.

is it possible to use the sound card and microphone as a telephone?
i DON"T mean an internet phone or a pc-to-phone.
i want to use the modem and the regular phone line that my pc is connected
to and to speak into the microphone, hear the other person from the speakers
and be able to answer phone calls with the computer.
is there a third party free app that can do that?
thank you
Eli

thank you again
