I work in physicians office and I would like to use outlook 2003 to schedule
patient surgeries but I need a little direction. Would you need to create a
contact for each patient scheduled for surgery? and Is there a way to edit
the appointment template?

Thanks. Chris

It all depends on what you want to do and what you want to show and what you want the physician to be aware of. Your question is far too vague to offer specific direction - please be more specific in what you want the end result to be.

What i need to enter for each patient on the date of surgery, is the following
patient name
medical record number
procedure
diagnosis
duration of procedure
date of birth
phone number
location of surgery

Does this help?

I wouldn't have thought Outlook was the best tool for that - more like a
database of some sort...

Sure - you can create an appointment item with all of this information in the notes section, but using an Access Database connected to Outlook is a lot more flexible. You can add information to the Access record and have it sync with Outlook.

I would post to an Access group for additional information and some tips to get started.

Wow, thank you. I never would have thought to do that!

Glad it helped you out - sometimes the best program for this is not the one you envision.
