I have been using Office 2003 with all the applications. When upgrading, I
got a "not a Genuine Advantage program" message.
So I took my Genuine Office XP and re-installed that, thinking to get back
to my Genuine programs.
This caused the famous...you can't have Outlook 2002 and Outlook 2003 on the
same computer.
I dumped the older 2002, but now Outlook 2003 won't let me make copies of
the folders to the older 97-2002 format, and it won't work now. It no longer
sends & receives.
How do I get back to being able to use either the Outlook 2003 or 2002?

Maybe 2003 is not activated? and if its not genuine then you may not be able
to activate it

Thank you DL.
I believe that is the case. 2003 is no longer activated, and won't let me.
"Not Genuine...."

"the operation failed"Error message when trying to do anything with outlook
2003, except I can see my saved emails and read them, and I can open the
Address Book.

Assuming a winxp PC try in outlook express Importing the msgs from Outlook
I dont use the Windows Address book so I'm unsure if you can Import outlook
contacts.
If a Vista PC import msgs & contacts in windows Mail.

The only alternative route, I believe, would be uninstall 2003, install the
office 2007 trial, use outlook 2007 to connect to your old data then create
an earlier version pst & copy your data to that.

If I uninstall 2003 outlook, will I lose all the emails and addresses/contact
info that are there if I don't do something with the data personal file
folders first. Do I have to save them before I uninstall the program that
runs them now?

Uninstalling Office has no impact on data, allthough as with any PC process
a backup is allways wise

So back to "uninstall 2003, install the office 2007 trial, use outlook 2007
to connect to your old data then create an earlier version pst & copy your
data to that."

Ok, and after that I have Office 2007 trial and Genuine XP Office 2002. If I
am staying in Genuine, with updates, will I have any trouble opening both
Outlooks. Do I need to un-install my Genuine 2002 as well?

Only a single instance of Outlook can be installed, you should completely
uninstall the trial, clear temp files & reboot before installing Office 2002

I need to know if this worked? I've had no success even to try and start
Outlook2002 (without importing old data files)

do you get any errors?

note that if you used unicode pst in outlook 2003, you won't be able to
open or import the old data into outlook 2002.
