use of word as editor in outlook

in office 2003 you could choose to use word as your editor when editing and
writing emails, by doing so all the macros and shortcuts created in word were
available when using outlook, is this no longer possible in outlook 2007?

Outlook uses a word.dll to provide the editing, but you will have to
copy what you want across.
 
There is a little more to it than that….
In Office 2007, it appears that they have irrevocably split Outlook from
Word. Outlook is now a stand-alone editor with its own styles, autotext
(quick parts), macros, etc.

After having spent the better part of a week trying to get the same level of
functionality in Outlook 2007 as I had in Word 2007, I gave up. To be fair,
Outlook does have the ability to provide its own, separate version of the
Word features, but they are definitely no longer shared. (That “separate but
equal†concept never really worked anywhere…)

I have found it much more efficient to simply compose my e-mail in Word, and
then cut and paste it into the Outlook e-mail. I realize that is taking a
step back to early 90’s, but it is easier than trying to maintain two sets of
styles, autotext, macros, etc…..
