what is the use of pause /break key
Google is your friend:
Scroll Lock
The main intent of the Scroll Lock key was to allow scrolling of screen text
up, down and presumably sideways using the arrow keys in the days before
large displays and graphical scroll bars. You can see where this might have
been handy in the DOS era, when screen output typically was limited to 80
characters wide by 25 rows deep. For some types of programs, spreadsheets
being the obvious example, it's still handy now. In Microsoft Excel, Scroll
Lock allows you to scroll a spreadsheet with the arrow keys without moving
the active cell pointer from the currently highlighted cell. In Quattro Pro,
another spreadsheet program, Scroll Lock works in a similar manner, although
in contrast to Excel it's not possible to scroll the active cell pointer
completely off the screen.
Pause Key
Keyboard key commonly found close to the top right of a computer keyboard.
This key allows a user to temporarily halt the action of the program being
ran. For example in computer games the pause key is commonly used to
temporarily stop the game while the user steps away from his or her
computer.
Break Key
On personal computers, the break key is used in different ways by different
programs, but usually involves some sense of changing the interaction with
the computer, such as switching between multiple login sessions, terminating
a program, or interrupting a modem connection.
In programming, especially in old DOS-style BASIC and Pascal, Break is used
(in conjunction with ((computer science) the key on a computer keyboard
that is used (in combination with some other key) to type control
characters) Control key) to stop program execution.
