I have Word 2000 running under Windows'98. I have the
share option on for the Address Book. When I try to click
on the address book icon on the Delivery Address portion
of the Tools/Envelopes and Labels tab, my address book
pops up. However when I select the address book entry, I
do NOT get the entire name and address put into the
Delivery Address Box. I get Name only. What am I doing
wrong? Or put another way, how can I get entire name and
address transferred to this Word Delivery Address Box?

Thanks in advance.

If we are talking about the contacts list in Outlook, then Outlook has a bad
habit (or did) of not displaying addresses properly, especially if you make
any changes to the layout of the address book that is linked to it. Set the
contacts list to 'detailed address cards' view and open and resave any
records that do not display the address.

Graham,

Thanks for your reply. Have patience with me since i am
new to NEWSGROUPS as well. Hope this makes it to you. My
address book is used by my Outlook Express. How do I tell
if it is "linked" to Word?

I also do not know how to set the contacts list
to "detailed address cards" view to open and resave any
records that do not display the address. Do I do this in
Outlook Express, Word, the Address Book itself? I'm lost.

Thank you in advance.

Dave

The Outlook Express address book is not compatible with Word's insert
address function. This requires a MAPI compliant e-mail application to be
the default and that essentially means Outlook. OE is not MAPI compliant.
