Use dvd as large floppy

How do you use your dvd? Do you use it as a large floppy?

If so what prog do you use?

I have tried nero6 trial - but as it could not find my dvd i left it.
Mainly because ,at this stage, i did not wish to upset my other
settings.

My cd writer has been used as a big floppy for years but the softawre
that was used will not work with xp and there are no updated drivers.

I have a num of programs that edit video/copy/ and seem to be all
singing all dancing except they do not do "packet" writing.

I use Roxio's drag to disk utility that is part of Easy CD and DVD Creator
6. It works fine for me.

It also costs $80 to $100. Some of us are retired and on fixed incomes.

Actually EZCD 6 came with the burner. I'm retired and on a fixed income
also. I work part time in fast food to support my computer habit. Sorry if I
struck a nerve.
