I work with a private equity group. We are actively involved with many of
our portfolio companies. As such, I have opportunities and contacts related
to each company. I like the functionality of Business Contact Manager, but
am wondering if there is a way to seperate the opporunities and contacts for
each of our portfolio companies.

I would try to group them into accounts and associate opportunities with
accounts.

What if you have opportunities for different contacts in each account? Is
there a way to link opportunities to contacts within a single account.

You can have multiple business contacts linked to single account. When you
create opportunity, you can create it for specific contact. This opportunity
will show up in history of business contact. Since BCM rolls up the history
to top most item in hierarchy, if you see history of account you will be able
to see all opportunities that are related to all contacts linked to that
account.
