Finally got around to starting my install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit at long last :o

My first question is this.....is it better to let W7 download/install the Asus motherboard drivers such as Chipset etc, or is it better to use the latest ones direct from the Asus site?

I just installed my network drivers iirc, didn't actually need to though as it worked fine. :)

I've read that 7 does a good job in finding the drivers and its only your GFX drivers that you should really worry about.

I recently carried out a fresh install of Win 7 64 Bit and haven't had to download any drivers from Asus, all is working fine.

I'm not using onboard sound though, I have a seperate sound card.

And I downloaded my video drivers from Nvidia.

With windows7 update I find they are usually the most up to date with a few exceptions.

I just let Windows Update grab the drivers for my Asus P5Q and it runs great :)

Welcome to the world of Windows 7 :D

What do you think of it so far?

strange to say it, but windows 7 will do it for you ... "found" drivers for my sound card 3 days after I loaded windows, I couldn't find them and according to the card's site, it wasn't supplying any ... I have sound. :)
