Use 256meg Memory Get Errors, Why?

Have a Biostar M6TZF motherboard that is supposed to handle up to 256meg
of memory. It works fine with 128meg of memory but when I put in a
second piece for a total of 256meg I see problems even though the memory
tests out ok in Diagnostics and in the BIOS.

The problems are noticed when installing software from the CD-Drive. When
installing a Microsoft Operating System I see the message: "Setup was
unable to copy the file ...." everytime I try to install the operating
system.
Go back to 128meg of memory and it is fine with the same installation
software.

Are there settings in the BIOS that could possibly solve the problem so I
could use 256meg in this system? Has this been seen before by others?

See what Crucial offers:

At a guess, your new DIMM is a high-density one, and incompatible with the
mainboard. (This would not necessarily cause errors that would show up
during the BIOS memory check. memtest86 or the Microsoft memory checker may
give more meaningful results.)

I have no connection with Crucial, other than having bought a couple of 256
MB PC133 DIMMs from them a couple of years ago. They worked well in my old
Intel 440BX based system, where newer high density ones did not.

Good luck.
