Steve

I have an ASUS A7N8X Deluxe mother board with 6 on board
USB2 slots. Windows XP Home Edition. When I use USB 1,
everything is fine. As soon as I plug in a USB 2 device,
Windows finds new hardware, a "security device". But,
try as I might, I can't figure out the device is, or what
drivers it needs. USB2 devices will not work. I've tried
the motherboard drivers, usb drivers, windows drivers.

Any suggestions would be wonderful

Thanks

Most USB devices require that their software be installed before installing
the hardware. Are you simply plugging in the devices or are you first
installing the device's software and then plugging it in. NOTE: the
software should be installed with the device disconnected from the system
and the device should only be connected when the software setup informs you
it's time to connect.
