when i try capturing movie it says that the video capture device is not found. what should i do? what do i need to install?

Can you record sound? I have the same problem and I am having difficulty finding the answer.

Hello There,

It is unlikely that your machine will accept a USB connection as being
suitable for the transfer of video data. Even USB 2 is many times to slow
for DV quality video.

Does your camera have a Firewire connection or iLink. These are the
required standard for video data transfer.

What kind of capture device are you using? You have to either have a DV
camera attached to and IEEE1394 card, an analog capture card, a web cam, or
a USB capture device to capture video on the computer using Movie Maker.
