Hi
I have just installed Windows XP and now my USB Wireless NW Adapter switches
off every so often. This never used to happen under previous versions of
Windows and is very annoying since it precludes connectivity from other
computers through this computer for Internet access. When I check the
configuration utility for the adapter it reports that the PC is unable to
communicate with the device and the bulb on the adapter is not lit.
I have checked My Computer/Properties/Hardware/Device Manager/Network
adapters and made sure that the Properties/Power Management does not allow
the computer to turn off the device to save power - also I have ensured the
same for the USB Root Hub Properties.
Currently the only way I have found to re-establish the link is to
physically disconnect/reconnect the adapter allowing the PC to note the HW
state change and then all is OK.
Is there a switch in the SW that I'm missing or is there a way to at least
reconnect via the SW without having to physically dis/reconnect the device?
Many thanks
