USB wireless mouse not working after XP SP-3 update

I have had a Targus USB Wireless Mouse Model PAWM10U for 3-4 years and
working perfectly until the Service Pack 3 for Microsoft XP was automatically
downloaded and installed on Saturday 4/11/09. Now my computer won't recognize
it. What happened and how do I fix it?

Uninstall/reinstall the mouse ?
 
I've taken the USB sender out of the computer and then re-installed it, but a
message comes up that the computer doesn't recognize it.
When I first got it, when I plugged it in, the computer recognized the new
hardware..... now it won't.
