Hi

Whenever I plug in a device to any of my 4 USB ports when
the computer is running my machine hangs. The device can
be anything, card reader, ADSL modem, keyboard, mouse etc
so I guess it's not the devices themselves. My workaround
is to ensure that all devices are plugged in when I switch
the PC on. This is not always practical so I'd like to
find a solution.

Many thanks

Martin

Martin,
I had the opposite prob on my old system - the system would hang at bootup
just prior to windows starting, when any USB devices had been left plugged
in.
After windows was at the desktop, they could be plugged in and work away
quite happily.
The solution for me was a bios update for the motherboard.
Just a suggestion ,
