I have an ADS external enclosure with a 40 gig HD in it; It is USB2.0...
After some problems with a PCI USB2.0 card that enables you to plug-in stuff
like this, it works fine.. It was never the ADS unit that caused the
problem, it was the internal PCI card with the 4 ports on it that was the
problem. If you are running Windows XP WITH SP1 update installed (it enables
the USB2.0 in Windows) you will probably not have a problem, you do not have
to install anything from any disc that may have come with hub UNLESS XP
tells you too.
When you are finished installing, or hooking it up or whatever, check in
the Device Manager section of SYstem in Control Panel to see if there is an
'enhanced USB 2.0 controller' that is listed way down at the bottom of the
'devices' listing.. That will tell you the device is recognized as a USB2.0
device by Windows..
Of course, your situation is a little different,; you are installing a
USB2.0 Hub made by ADS, my enclosure is made by ADS, not my USB card (which
is Belkin) but my guess is ADS stuff is good hardware, Good Luck..
