Hi,
I have a usb stick and an mp3 player. Under Windows I have good (the
expected) data rates. But under Linux I have only very poor
write-data-rates. Has anyone experienced this, too ? Why is this ? Is it a
rude method of the Producers to kick out Linux users ?

Regards
Thorsten

Are you sure your linux box is supporting usb2 data rates?

Yes, at least for reading it does. But maybe not for writing ?!?

It should. Support is either for reading and writing or for neither.
I have not observed any problems. Maybe your stick is really slow in
writing, but in windows you allow it to be write-bufferd, while
in Linux you do not (mounted with sync-option). That would mean
that in Winsows you will loose data when yanking it out.

How have you tested device speed?
