usb speed

installed a new scanner computer said i have a high speed
devise but no high speed port and that i needed to
install a high speed usb controller in the meantime it
would work at a reduced speed!! haven't a clue can anyone
help.......... thanks

The high speed (USB 2) scanner may work if the manufacturer also installed
the lower speed (USB 1.1) support. Some do and some don't.
 
you using a USB2 device on a USB1.1 por

to get the full speed of the device you need USB2.

Check the manual for your MoBo to see if it is USB2.
If it is, you need to download the patches from windows update

If it isn't, think about purchasing a USB2.0 interface card
