hi there, i have bought a usb 2.0 sony micro vault. I
have plugged it into my notebook with usb 1.0 ports, the
hardware wont work. i have a driver disc and that has
been no help at all. i was told that the hardware would
be backwards compatible but it isnt working which is
really annoying, it would be nice if someone would be
able to help me.

thanks in advance

PS. please feel free to add me on msn messenger if you
think you can help ([email protected])

it brings up a message by the system tray 'usb security
device reckognised' then it fades away and another
message comes up saying 'the device reckognised is a high
speed usb device and has been plugged into a non-hi speed
usb hub click here to resolve the problem'

this then loads up the install hardware wizard which i
have run through and is no help at all, even with the
internet driver search, windows update search and
removeable media search (driver disc)

Don't run the hardware wizard. This message always comes up when you insert
a 2.0 USB into a 1.x USB, just Ignore.

yeah of course, they say for windows xp you shouldnt need
a driver, and i've tried a load of usb stuff too and gone
through windows xp help, they offer drivers and apps for
windows 98 and 98 se but nothing else, im waiting for a
reply from their technical support team. i have also done
the service pack 1 thing too
any other ideas???
