Hi guys.

When I plug in my Universal Smart Drive (32mb)into the USB
port, the following message appears: "USB Mass Storage
Device, USB Device. An error occurred during the
installation of the device. One of the filter drivers
installed for this device is invalid."

How do I fix? Thanks for your help

Sid

What worked for me on the same problem:

1. Open the Control Panel
2. Select "Systems"
3. Select Hardware
4. Select Device Manager
5. Scroll Down to the "USB Serial Device Controller"
6. Click the "+" to expand
7. Right Click the USB mass storage device and Select Uninstall.
8. Exit all programs and reboot with the USB device installed.

When Windows restarts it should find the device and install the proper
drivers. Rebooting the machine worked much better for me than anything I
tried without rebooting.

You may also want to install the latest XP USB drivers from microsoft.

Good luck

Hi,

I tried the suggestion. However after loading the update and such, it still gives me that error.
Any other suggestions?

Sid
