You delete them with your camera. Not your computer.
You have the card in your camera. You use your camera file menu and select
FORMAT. When you do this, all files on your camera memory card will be
erased and the card is now ready for new pictures. Look in your camera
manual for FORMAT.

Indeed you can, but I don't think it is a good idea.
We simply don't know if the photos have been transferred properly. First
thing after copying photos is to check that there are there and will open
properly. Second thing is to copy them to a CD-R or CD-RW and then check
that they are there and will open properly. Thus I think it is best to
simply format the card in the camera after doing the above.
