I recently got a SIM card reader for my dad. Not grasping the
"things are cheap for a reason" routine, he just wanted the
cheapest he could find. I got one off ebay and it arrived today.

All installed fine but the software doesn't work (in Win2000 or XP) -
it crashes when you try to access the card reader.

The device shows up as
"USB to UART Bridge Controller (COM3)" in device manager
under com and lpt ports.

I was wondering if anyone has any ideas of any other bits of software
that might be able to access it.

Cheers

Link to this product, or better yet, if you have the
manufacturer's website URL, link that too. There may be a
newer driver and/or software available.

I'm going to guess that it should not show up under Com/LPT
in Device Manager, so if you found both a newer driver and
software, try the driver first.
