Hi there,
Gigabyte Mainboard AMD K7 Thunderbird 1.3GHZ 512MB SDRam onboard USB 1.1
I' m wondering if there is something in XP that could prevent 3rd Party
Programs from detecting and using a USB scanner.
I' m on my 3rd brand new scanner (2 HP) with the 3rd one being a Canon
Lide20.
XP detects the scanner as a system device, the test button says its okay.
But when I go to the default scanner untility that comes with the scanner
(all 3 occurences) NO scanner is shown.
I entered REGEDIT to check check access permissions for all attempts, but
that had no effect.
I got a new Buslink USB 2.0 PCI card, that didn't help.
HP Support was completely baffled and could not assist, that is why I went
to Canon. Same result.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Carl
