Have win2k, runs flawless except when I want to use my
visioneer 6100 scanner and canon powershot a40 camera at
the same time. What ever the second device is it fails
and I need to disable the first to get the other to work,
I know the drivers are crashing, does any one know of a
remedy.

Thanks,
Matt

Hi,
2 things to see first. Sounds like interupt problem.
Win2k will share the interupts correctly, as long as there
are enough to share. If you have a lot of cards and are
using them all the time then when you attempt to use the
usb devices you overload the system. So what you could do
is decide if you need all the interupts you use at this
time. If you have a modem that you only use occasionally
then you could disable it and remove it. If you have set
your printer to use ecp and given it an interupt to use
then maybe remove it til you need it. There are ways to
make configurations that you could use to accomplish this.
You set up a scanning/ picture configuration and remove
all the things you won't be using at that time. This will
free up the interupts for that session. Then you reboot
out of it to get back the ones you need.
Luck

You might try getting a memory card reader and use that for retrieving
the pictures instead of going through the camera. The camera "drivers"
are handled as a "scanning" device and so is the Scanner. The memory
card is accessed as a storage device and so avoids the two scanning
inputs problem.
