After installing Secutiry patch, I can not connect my
Fuji Finepix camera. WP does not like the driver any
more.

Reports unknown device.

Please advise.

I'm not sure which model of Finepix you have to know if you are using the
device as an MS device (mass storage), using Fuji's TWAIN drivers or if the
device is a serial camera. You need to be a little more specific. (WP
usually = Word Perfect. Do you mean WP or XP (Windows XP)?)

In any case, I recommend you first disconnect the device from the computer.
Then un-install any software that came with the device. Reboot. Then,
depending on the camera model, you can either plug the device back into your
computer and check Explorer to see if the device shows up as a driver
letter, or re-install the software that makes the camera run (if it's not an
MS device).

good luck!

- me

I'm using XPhome and Xp professional( office computer ).
The Camera is Fujifilm Finepix S304. I connect as an MS
device.

When I do as you say, the System
- finds a new USB device
- Starts installing
- prompt me for CD
- Tries to install from CD but fails.

My own conclusion is that you ( Microsoft ) have added
features in you security patches that change system so it
is requires that all device drivers are signed by
Microsoft.

I have also checked the camera at the Supplier
representative shop. The Camera is OK.

Works fine with Windows 2000.

Any help appreciated,

Andreas
