Hi,

I have a problem with my USB Motorola 4100 Cable Modem.

My computer doesnt load windows xp while the pc is
connected to the modem. I have to remove the usb
connection in order for windows to load.

My broadband service say that it is a problem with the
operating system.

Any ideas?

Hi Anthony,

I've had very similar experiences with my ShuttleX MiniPC SS51G. In my
experience, my power supply could not send enough voltage to the USB devices
so it simply would not boot at all.

Does this sound like what's happening with you? Does your system attempt to
load anything when the cable modem is plugged in, or does it just sit there
and do nothing?

Try plugging in your USB cable modem AFTER you've booted your system and see
what happens.

Also, most of those modems also have a network cable plug on them as well.
If you have a network adapter in your computer, you can get a CAT5 cable and
try running your cable modem that way.

I hope this helps. Please let me know what happens after trying my
suggestions.
