When I first turn on my computer my printer and USB thumb drive work fine.
After a few minutes they both stop working (although the mouse still works)
until I turn my computer off and back on again. Is there any way to fix
this? Having access to my printer/thumb drive only for a few minutes right
when I turn my computer on is annoying.

Sounds like your Thumb drive is causing a confliction with the printer. Have
you tried removing the thumb drive before restarting, to see if the printer
continues to work?

This is typical Vista behaviour. Many of my USB accessories perform like
that - work for a bit (sometimes several days) then just stop. I have to
pull all the USB accessories out, reinstall all the drivers, then it works
again maybe for a few weeks.
